Global Market Access Director, General Medicines:

Pricing and Market Access (P&MA) are key to maximizing the value of our products for patients, healthcare systems and for the company.

This is a truly exciting opportunity for the role of Global Market Access Director, General Medicines, in our Infectious Disease area.


The vision of the Global Pricing and Market Access team is to be the industry leader in our ability to maximise patient access to life changing vaccines and medicines.

To do this we externally engage payers to fully recognise the value of our assets and internally act as a strategic leader to increase portfolio lifecycle value by delivering innovative solutions.

In the Global Market Access Director role for Infectious Disease products you will leverage your clinical understanding, expertise of Evidence Based Medicine, alongside deep global payer knowledge and competitive insights, to shape the Pricing & Access strategy, evidence generation, and value communication tools & materials.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver the Global Pricing and Market Access Strategy & the Payer Value Proposition for assets such as gepotidacin and tebipenem pivoxil.
  • Address reimbursement and pricing potential for key markets including the U.S, Japan, China, and Germany, plus other markets in collaboration with regional pricing and access colleagues.
  • Develop and rollout tools, materials, and training to support LOCs (Local Operating Countries) in their market access planning, activities and engagements, to ensure patient access.
  • Obtain and communicate global market access considerations (e.g. from market research) contributing to evidence generation planning.
  • Incorporate payer insights and market access expectations into global forecasting exercises, in collaboration with regional counterparts.
  • Contribute to Integrated Asset Planning and deliver the Market Access Plan accounting for data, competitor and environment evolution.
  • Collaborate with other functions such as Strategic Insights, Government Affairs, Commercial, Medical and Region & LOC functions, to ensure a solid understanding of current markets and emerging stakeholders in the antiinfectives reimbursement area.
  • Represent payers and market access within the Global Brand team and the Global Medical Team.
  • Internally collaborate and manage external partners/vendors to deliver workplan to time and within budget.
  • Lead project management with regards to purchasing support, opening of POs; ensuring appropriate documentation is in place in line with company procedures and storage of pertinent documents to assigned projects.

Basic Qualifications:


  • A depth of experience in Pricing and Market Access.
  • Experience in developing and managing market access strategies globally, regionally or in key markets, e.g. US.
  • Knowledge of pricing policy & regulations and healthcare in key markets, ideally with antiinfectivesspecific expertise.
  • Understanding of regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval, and the impact on reimbursement decisions.
  • Degree qualified in Science/Medicine/Business/Health Policy/Health Economics discipline.
  • Ability to influence and clearly communicate across a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable leadership, intrapersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills to work with a variety of groups in ensuring that the strategic direction for market access and pricing is in balance with the market as well as corporate goals.
  • Strong presentation and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • MBA/Masters in scientific or economic area, e.g. Health Economics.
  • Successful incountry payer engagement and negotiation experience in priority markets (US, China, Japan, Germany).
  • Experience in infectious disease, antimicrobial resistance and overcoming the challenges of the reimbursement of antiinfectives.
  • Good skills to lead and develop teams.
