£27,859 - £31,344 per annum


37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025


As our
Multiply Course Tutor, you
will support learning through the delivery of classes which aim to consolidate learning by embedding into practise.

Contribute to the college's vision to become and sustain outstanding.

Providing academic and technical support across the curriculum to maintain a safe environment which is ready to support learning activities.


Multiply is a new initiative that aims to improve the use of mathematical skills in daily life for adults living in Hull aged 19+ who do not hold a formal maths qualification.

To do this the post holder will design and deliver a range of maths courses that address the practical maths needs of adults both for employment and their wider lives.

The successful person will need to have the skills to engage in co-design with employers, organisations and individuals, as well as deliver the learning outcomes agreed.

Responsibilities of our
Multiply Course Tutor:

  • Engaging and co-designing with employers, other providers and community groups programmes that improve maths skills for adults 19+
  • Being responsible for providing appropriate and effective initial assessment; information, advice and guidance to learners, supporting their access onto the course and progression onwards
  • Designing and preparing teaching and learning materials, equipment and resources for student activities and project work, to include planning and online materials
  • Engaging and delivering highquality personalised small group maths related sessions, including financial awareness, to people aged 19+ without formal maths qualifications, which enables learners to develop in their learning of mathematical skills
  • Producing detailed good quality, effective action plans (RARPA) with individuals and groups to record the interaction and progress and share with teachers, partners and managers as appropriate
  • Measuring learner progress through a range of assessments and through providing feedback
  • Progressing participants towards increased numeracy skills including GCSE and functional skills qualifications
  • Maintaining and collecting academic records, data and report on participation, success, and progression; including registers, records of work, destinations etc
  • Contributing and fully complying with quality improvement, health and safety, equality & diversity and safeguarding systems, processes and procedures

What we're looking for in our
Multiply Course Tutor:

  • Subject specific Level 3/4 qualification
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training/Cert Ed/PGCE (or willingness to achieve within two years)
  • Minimum of a level 2 qualification in English and maths
  • L3 Assessor qualification or willing to work towards
  • Experience of working in an academic setting and working with learners to support their needs
  • Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a classroom, workshop or workplace environment
  • Experience of supporting revision workshops, study skills, and covering classes
  • Knowledge of the specialist sector
