About The Role
**The IT team here at HCR are now recruiting for a Network Support Administrator, this role is to be located in our newly refurbished offices in Cheltenham.

The HCR Server Admin Team are responsible for delivering an excellent user experience, which reflects our position as a provider of high-quality legal services and underpins all our employees' ability to deliver an excellent service to their clients.

The primary purpose of this role is to be part of the HCR Server Admin Team which is responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the firm's network and servers, ensuring reliability, security and optimal performance.

The Network Systems Administrator must fully integrate with the Server Admin Team and IT Manager to provide effective technical support and solutions.

The team IT are geographically spread to help support our 10 offices, which stretch across from Cardiff, Birmingham, to Cambridge and London.


Objectives of the role:


  • Working with the Server Admin Team to ensure that HCR's systems are up and efficiently running at all times.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for all laptops, servers, network, and other IT equipment including onpremise and cloud technologies.
  • Working closely with the First Line Team for the delivery of IT systems in response to feedback, as well as business and user needs.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Server Admin Team to identify and implement new technology solutions to improve the efficiency and delivery of IT systems.
  • Facilitating the delivery of new systems and software (working with external suppliers and HCR's IT).
  • Work closely with the First Line and Development Teams to ensure that changes in user systems or services are professionally communicated and transitioned without a negative impact on the service provided to users
  • Supporting the IT Manager and IT Director on ad hoc projects as required.

Duties will include:


  • Provide proactive monitoring and support of the firm's hardware, software and network.
  • Fully communicate with the Server Admins and wider IT Team and end users.
  • Provide support to all members of the Server Admin and First Line Team on a daytoday and project basis.
  • Troubleshoot any Helpdesk Tickets that have been escalated to the Server Admin Team.
  • Ensure all Helpdesk Tickets are managed and maintained and carried out in a manageable prioritised fashion.
  • Manage and assist other members of the IT Team to ensure Helpdesk Tickets are completed efficiently.
  • Administer user accounts and security access permissions for network resources.
  • Assist with any projects within the scope of Information Technology as required.
  • Coordination, booking and monitoring of onsite engineers for installations and maintenance.
  • Provide appropriate support, where required, for all offices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs such as system bibles.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of network and server configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Monitor routine backups/snapshots (as scheduled) of all main systems.
  • Work out of hours that might be necessary in the event of installation or maintenance work.
  • Carry out any duties that may be required to assist the IT Manager/IT Director or Server Admin Team.

About You
**- Proved experience of managing support technology across a multi-site, geographically disparate technical landscape.

  • Previous experience within a professional services organisation would be helpful.
  • Previous experience of supporting a highvolume user base across multiple sites.
  • First and second line support and experience with supporting the following:
  • Active Directory
  • Azure
  • Exchange
  • Intune
  • Citrix
  • VMware
  • Network Security / Firewall / Antivirus Software
