An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an important charity that works with people in local communities to help them access the support, opportunities, and skills they need to overcome social inequalities, improve their well-being and change their lives.

Senior Support Worker


Location:
Stroud Community Hub


Hours:
Minimum 16 hours per week including Monday and Thursday


Salary:
£11 per hour


Closing Date: 30th June 2023

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at our Stroud Community Hub as a Senior Support Worker.

Purpose


To support the Stroud Hub Team Leader in the management of staff, volunteers, and activities of the Hub, giving support to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

(Not direct line management).


Key responsibilities of the Senior Support Worker include:


  • Plan programmes of activities with service users.
  • Directly deliver activities at the Hub.
  • Research best value and obtain materials or resources to deliver planned activities.
  • Carry out assessments to establish the suitability of the service for potential new service users.

Coordinate the key working system for support planning, goal setting and reviews.

  • Create and review support plans/personal development plans with service users to ensure that activities are personcentred.
  • Communicate regularly with service users and their support network, as appropriate.
  • Liaise with organisations and the local authority as appropriate to support the needs of individuals using the service.

Oversee the recording of daily, weekly, and monthly health & safety records.

  • Lead and participate in team meetings as requested by the Team Leader.
  • Contribute to service development and growth.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of service performance.
  • Attend training opportunities as appropriate to keep up to date with best practices.
  • Take advantage of appropriate opportunities to
    promote and raise awareness of the services and increase attendance.

Deputise for the Team Leader when required to ensure adequate staff and volunteer service cover on a day-to-day basis.

To succeed in the role of Coach Practitioner, your key skills will include:
