Here at XPO, we're looking to bring in a Transport Administrator at our new customer site in Nottingham on a permanent basis.

You will efficiently administer customer order requests, process and improve contract transport operations in order to achieve targeted performance levels whilst meeting the needs of the customer.

Based out of Nottingham, you'll operate Monday to Friday across core working hours,


Pay, benefits and more:

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £25,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • To ensure all administrative order entry duties are carried out to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • To achieve weekly and monthly KPI's as set by the business and /customer service level agreements, escalating any issues impacting on these to the Transport Operations Manager.
  • To use IT based systems in the effective performance of their role, this will predominantly be XPO's own DDL System
  • Ensures that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g. advising deliveries, communicating with sites/stores, dealing with customer issues, communicating with drivers, providing ETAs, etc.
  • To ensure compliance with company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to the Transport Operations Manager.
  • To identify and highlight any potential improvement opportunities within the contract framework.
  • To demonstrate the company values in the undertaking of their role.
  • To consistently provide the highest levels of customer service.
  • To undertake any relevant training events in line with own development needs and business requirements.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Understanding of Transport Legislation
  • Preferred experience within a transport office / planning function.
  • Must be confident in dealing with customer & end user issues
  • Strong administration skills are highly desirable, with the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of purchasing system
  • SAP
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer
