The Role


As a Tactical Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate, timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services necessary for the operation of our organisation.

You will be responsible for executing purchasing transactions, expediting deliveries, managing supplier relationships, and optimising inventory levels to support operational objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Execute purchase orders and contracts in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Identify and qualify reliable suppliers/vendors. Negotiate pricing and terms. Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure accurate specifications, appropriate quality, environmental and safety standards are met.
  • Ensure timely delivery in full and hold suppliers and contractors to Lowe's terms of purchase where deficiencies are apparent.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts while minimising excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as production, logistics, operations, and finance to forecast demand, plan purchases, and optimise inventory levels.
  • Continuously evaluate supplier performance, conduct supplier audits, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance with quality, safety, delivery, and contractual requirements.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements relevant to procurement and supply chain management.

Essential

  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to interpret data accurately, spot and correct errors and inconsistencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders. Show tenacity and diligence in meeting our business's requirements and holding suppliers and contractors to agreed deadlines and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desirable

  • Ideally, some experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in our industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Proficiency in procurement software.

Pay:
£25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
