Performance Insight Consultant (Perm) - J Oxford/Hybrid (3 days in office) - up to £55,000 DoE


Our client, a luxury retail brand are looking for Performance Insight Consultant to be instrumental with setting up a data function as part of their data journey.

As their Performance Insight Consultant, the initial area of focus will be retail operations.

This will involve actively contributing to strategic decision-making by extracting, analysing and interpreting data to provide insights that drive retail sales growth and enhance the customer experience/profitablility.


Role responsibilities:

  • Extract/analyse large sets of retail data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities.
  • Evaluate sales data to identify key revenue drivers, track product performance, and assess the effectiveness of promotional activities using statistical methods and visualisation to present findings.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Planning team to align data insights with stock planning and merchandise strategies using transactional and demographic data.
  • Work with the Retention team to feed insights into customer segmentation, personalized marketing, and overall customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends and conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Define, track, and report on retailrelated KPIs, collaborating with crossfunctional teams to align KPIs with overall business goals.
  • Develop dashboards for realtime monitoring of retail performance.
  • Work closely with the data engineer to ensure correct and relevant data is produced for all retail reports and dashboards.
  • Provide input on data infrastructure needs and collaborate on data quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with committee members to drive initiatives and strategies aimed at improving retail performance and conversion rates.

Ideal Skills/Experience include:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
  • Understanding of retail operations, trends and challenges and identify business challenges and develop datadriven solutions.
  • Ability to convey complex data findings using strong presentation skills to share insights with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Possess the flexibility to adapt knowledge and experience to provide data for other areas
