An opportunity has arisen to join the Mental Health Officer Team as a Mental Health Social Work Assistant.

You will be closely aligned with community and hospital based mental health services, providing support to adults with severe and enduring mental health needs who are in need of support.

You will be involved in multi-disciplinary working, supporting the recovery journey of adults who have severe and enduring mental health needs.

You will work closely with Mental Health Officers and Social Workers, and with NHS partners, providing support with assessment, personal outcome and recovery focussed care planning and review.

You will be directly involved in the delivery of support to adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.


You will be experienced in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals, carers, and other agencies, and will be able to develop good working relationships with other locality based partners.

You will deliver support in line with policy, procedure and best practice. This is a full-time, permanent position.


The Individual:


You must hold SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare/ Health and Social Care, or equivalent and have experience in mental health recovery related work.

You will be skilled in developing effective interpersonal relationships with service users, carers and other agencies, and have experience of working in partnership with other locality based partners to offer support focussed on personal outcomes and recovery.

You will demonstrate good written, IT and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate skills in assessment, care planning and review processes.

You must have a genuine interest in working with people in a recovery focussed way to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

You will be expected to travel efficiently between various work locations. Due to the rural nature of Perth and Kinross, this is normally undertaken by car/pool car. A driving license is therefore required.
