About the Role

Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highway related schemes across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights and 2955 bridges.

Starting salary dependent on skills and experience.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Skilled Highways Operative to support the delivery of Highways schemes which are often complex in nature, politically sensitive and high profile.

This will be an opportunity to support the maintenance and enhancement of the highway network and provide long term benefits for residents, visitors and businesses in Lancashire.

Whilst this role will primarily focus on delivering the Authority's capital highways programme of works, the post holder may be required to work on other aspects of highways schemes as directed.

We are looking for someone with significant experience of working within highway engineering fields, preferably with specific experience of delivering highways maintenance schemes.

The role also requires the supervision of a small team of skilled operatives to ensure all activities are delivered on time and within budget.

As part of our commitment on continuous improvement, how we deliver our service is regularly reviewed. Therefore, job roles may change, and post holder may be required to work elsewhere within the service.
