We are looking for independent, dynamic, compassionate, and hardworking individuals who are able to support individuals who are living in the community to help them become as independent as possible.


Position:
Specialist Support Worker and Bank Specialist Support Worker


Location:
Bowfell Road, Manchester


Pay Rates:
£12.50 per hour


Contract:
Specialist Support Worker - 12 Months Contract and Bank Specialist Support Worker, nil hours

Hours:
Position 1: 40 hours per week, will include day, evening, weekend and sleep shifts.

Position 2: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, will include day, evening & weekend shifts


Benefits:

25 days holiday per holiday year plus bank holidays (pro-rata), 2 well-being days (pro-rata)

After 3 months auto enrolled in the NOW pension scheme at prevailing rates, after successful completion of the probation period (normally 6 months) eligible to join the Scottish Widows pension employee contributes 5%, employer 6%, Eye care vouchers, 5 days paid study leave per year (CPD) (pro-rata), Expenses policy which allows payments for items when working away from home, 2x salary life assurance scheme (death in service)

About the Role:


As a Support Worker, you will be responsible, with the Project Manager and the other staff members, for the successful running of a supported housing scheme for Deaf people with additional needs of a behavioural, emotional, and social nature.

The objective is to enable the tenants to become as independent as possible.


About you:


You will become a key worker to a specific client, supporting them with independent living skills, emotional support, monitoring of their medication, and where appropriate maintaining safety, privacy, and dignity in accordance with CQC regulations and organisation policies and procedures.


We are looking for people with:
*Experience working with varying degrees of deafness, including those who are culturally deaf
*British Sign Language (BSL) or a willingness to learn BSL?
*Excellent communications skills
*Experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and/or Mental Health where the diagnosis is complex and may present behavior that can challenge
*Experience working in supported living services/or residential care services
*Experience in Prevention Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) or are you willing to undertake this training
