Applications are sought from suitably experienced individuals to join our procurement team at the Hairmyres Hospital working full-time, Monday to Friday.


The post holder is required to possess a recognised Driver's CPC qualification with Ability to drive 7.5 tonne vehicle with current driving licence with Category C1.

The post holder manages the General Store and Transport activity on a day-to-day basis within NHS Lanarkshire Procurement Department.


This includes full responsibility for ensuring that the Stock procurement, storage and distribution function is carried out correctly and cost effectively in compliance with the Board's "Standing Financial Instructions" to all wards and departments.

The post holder will also be expected to undertake various management-reporting tasks.

This would include the preparation and ability to interpret data, organise onto spreadsheets and consolidate into meaningful management reports in a manner and style as directed by the Logistics Manager/Assistant General Manager.

The following knowledge, training and/or experience is required for the job:

  • Experience in maintaining and updating system information
  • Experience in delivering customer focussed services
  • Experience in managing and leading a Stores Transport/distribution team
  • Knowledge in using an integrated stock management system
  • Knowledge and understanding of Transport Legislation and Health & Safety
  • Highly IT literate
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills.
