My Life is a highly respected charity and we are currently seeking an experienced Personal Assistant / Support Worker to work with our young client in his home in Bury.
My Life was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives.
My Life currently provides care and support to a growing number of individuals who have complex health and/or social care needs across the Northwest of England.
Our staff are integral to the success of the charity as they are the ones making a real difference to people's lives.
Your Responsibilities
Please meet the lovely *Harry. Harry lives at home in Bury with his Mum, Dad and his younger brother William.
He is in Year 4, and, following an accident a couple of years ago, he needs support with his daily tasks.
Harry attends his local primary school 5 days a week and when not in school, he gets involved with lots of activities including hydrotherapy and going to the local park.
Harry absolutely loves football, everything Star Wars and he really thrives when interacting with people whether they are his friend, classmates or his staff.
He has the most captivating eyes and a smile which makes everyone around him smile too.*Name changed for confidentiality.
There are two part time Personal Assistant / Support Worker roles currently available. The role will be to provide support from Monday to Friday 7am-7pm.
As part of the My Life team, you will ensure that care is provided in a way that respects this young person and promotes his independence.
What you'll need to Succeed
In order to succeed, you will be kind-hearted and interested in making a positive difference to this young boy's life.
You will have experience working as a Personal Assistant and/or Support Worker and you will have supported young people with a range of support needs.
You will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others.
Ideally you will be experienced in supporting people who are PEG fed but full training will be given. You will hold a full driving licence.What you'll get in return
