Job Description:


Our Workplace Business Development team are the market facing relationship team of the Workplace business, responsible for the delivery of new business growth.

We lead every aspect of the customer interaction, from prospecting to client win through our specialist workplace business teams.


Due to continued growth and investment in our Workplace business, we're looking to appoint a Corporate Advisor Distribution Lead who can build a successful business trading environment with our key Corporate Adviser relationships, leading our brilliant team who are focussed on this objective.

Reporting to our Head of Workplace Distribution, you'll play a key part in our team, with leadership responsibilities and will co-own our business growth ambitions.

Location & Ways of working


Our team is based across our Edinburgh and London hubs; therefore, ideally you'd be based in one of these locations.

We're flexible on location for the right person though, just as long as your open to travel for the occasional team meeting.


Key accountabilities:
Working in a dynamic team where we hold our group values close and invest in our people, supporting you into role and with continued personal development, as Corporate Advisor Distribution Lead you'll:

  • Intermediary relationships are core and you'll showcase your relationship building skills with these external customers as well as internal collaborators with results that deliver growth
  • Find opportunities and build proactive plans for our important strategic relationships, helping to drive value, growth and opportunity for the Workplace channel
  • You'll meet the needs of significant customers related to products and services, understanding the nuances within and how best to support
  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of our corporate relationships, helping you to develop a deeper understanding of the businesses, their strategy and direction to help identify growth opportunities. You'll build on established relationships beyond that of tactical new scheme acquisition
  • Your development and agreement of core strategic objectives will help both ours and our customers businesses thrive, ensuring effective delivery and execution of those objectives
  • Networking will be key both internally and externally to support delivery of shared objectives. You'll also be an excellent communicator, bringing strategy to life in an engaging way
  • Deliver performance and progress updates of central initiatives to our Senior Leadership team and key business collaborators

Skills & Experience we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of the intermediary marketplace including regulatory, technical and legislative issues
  • Outstanding Communication and presentation skills across all levels
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated through the ability to review a range of information and metrics to identify and prioritise appropriate actions
  • Can collaborate easily across teams, building rapport, trust and customer confidence by presenting a professional image of Scottish Widows
Desirable- Commercial awareness - knowledge of Workplace pensions- Line management experience
