We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Advisor to join our team in Livingston


We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can energise and drive our environment, health and safety culture, whilst engaging with our operatives, developing relationships and collaborating with colleagues.

Excellent communication skills are a key attribute for this role.


Key responsibilities of the role:


  • Provide a robust EHS advisory service to managers and team leaders.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure company policies, procedures and regulations are being adhered to and that working practices are safe and comply with regulations.
  • Development and maintenance of EHS management system to recognized standards.
  • Develop and implement a full site EHS plan and drive improvements across the site.
  • Carry out and review risk assessments for the site and support development of safe systems of work, including provision of correct PPE.
  • Fully understand and ensure compliance with the site's PPC permit.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and professional EHS partners to ensure EHS controls are fully aligned with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Run an effective EHS committee to ensure full engagement with site workforce.
  • Maintain the company hazard and near miss log, ensuring timely corrective actions and closure.
  • Maintain records of inspection findings, accidents / incidents, unsafe behaviours, and conduct investigations and identify root causes and corrective actions. Use this data to produce monthly KPIs for the business.
  • Contractor induction process scope of work / risk assessments / method statements.
  • Carry out EHS inductions for new employees and facilitate and deliver EHS Training for all employees.

Skills and qualifications required.

  • NEBOSH certificate as minimum, ideally possessing or working towards diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working within a chemical processing / manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO 14001 Environment Management System
  • Knowledge of EHS focussed regulations.
  • Environmental awareness e.g., SEPA and permitting.
