Links sits within the Brunel Autism Support and Inclusion Services (BASIS) and is a specialist environment offering personalised and bespoke packages to our YP - including horse riding, cooking and farm trips to name a few.


It is an exciting time for Links, as we are increasing the number of YP that we are able to support.

Due to this expansion, we are looking to employ additional Links Learning Coaches to support our Bespoke SEND Learners. This will include specialist support of YP ages 11-17 years SEND/ASC/SCID/ADHD in small groups or as individuals.

  • You have an exceptional ability to build rapport on a one to one basis
  • You have a positive, nurturing and enthusiastic approach to your career

Your Role

  • Use SEND/ASC specific specialist skills to facilitate access to the curriculum and maximise the independence of the student
  • Support YP to achieve their aims and aspirations in the wider learning experiences
  • Establish a good relationship with YP by using language and other communication skills that YP can understand and relate to
  • Encourage and enable YP to make informed choices in their lives and assist them in working through the consequences and taking responsibility for their behaviour
  • Support the wellbeing of YP in their emotional and social, personal development
  • Meet the needs of YP by contributing to, and then following support plans and risk assessments
  • Promote the inclusion and participation of all YP, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop
  • To keep records, contribute to reports and carry out assessments using a variety of media and evaluation strategies.

Your Experience
Our attached job description and person specification contain the full areas of skills and experience, but it is really important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have everything desirable, there are some essential features our appointee will need to have and these include:

  • Experience of working with YP, ideally with SEND and/or Autism and Social Communication & Interaction Difficulties
  • Experience of supporting the emotional regulation and social interaction of YP
  • Have some knowledge of the autistic profile of need
  • An effective English communicator both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have up to date IT skills

Salary:
£ £16.48
