The hours are 22.50 per week over 3 days (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), to cover 5 days a week within the Job Share role.


An opportunity has arisen to join the Community Podiatry team based in the Swindon Health Centre as a Band 4 Business Support Team Leader.

The postholder will ork as part of the Swindon Community Health Services Podiatry team, within the
Administration function. The role is a Job Share role and will be to provide an efficient and effective administration service, accountable for ensuring the support function is managed and operates efficiently and effectively and in a timely manner
in accordance with NHS and Trust Policies.

To be the accountable lead for the business support administration service including direct line management of the business support team, allocation of work, scheduling of resources and creating and overseeing data
and record management systems in accordance with defined occupational policies, protocols and
procedures. This is a job share role and the role will be managed utilising resource as detailed in the various
role descriptors for the operational and line management aspects of the role.

The postholder will work as part of the Swindon Community Health Services Podiatry team, within the
Business Support function.

The role will be to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective administration service, accountable for ensuring the support function operates efficiently and effectively and in a timely manner in accordance with NHS and Trust Policies.

  • Develop and create effective, robust processes for the business support function and review where necessary to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose in conjunction with the Head of Integrated Podiatry and senior clinicians.
  • Develop, implement and monitor changes to administrative processes, to ensure complex work is covered and the business support team are working at full capacity/efficiency including liaison with the wider multi-disciplinary team. Working in conjunction with the Band 3 Business Support administrator, manage the use of resources, including staff, within the business support function ensuring a comprehensive service is provided to all practitioners and users that meets their needs as

far as possible and ensuring full cover requirements of the business support function are met including allocation of tasks and staff.


  • To support the Podiatry Acute team within GWH, managing caseload projects and ensuring all patient data is entered and monitored, utilising the toolkit and databases and liaising on a regular basis with the Diabetic and Integrated Foot Co-ordinator.
  • To support the Integrated Head of Service in Projects and Analysis Audits as required.
  • Participate in the recruitment of Business Support Staff, including shortlisting, interviewing, and appointing new staff members. To be the contact for locum recruitment, liaising with Locum Agencies as required and ensuring all relevant contracts and paperwork are in place.
  • Responsible for maintaining and producing a comprehensive induction schedule and information pack for all new recruited staff into Community Podiatry, ensuring all systems and equipment are available. Training and induction of all business support staff, utilising existing team members.
