Description
We are working with a local authority in Bolton to find an Auditor on a temporary basis.

Length of role:
Initial 3 months

PAYE rate:
£17.52 per hour


Umbrella rate:
£21.74 per hour

This is a hybrid position. 3 days in the office per week.


The role::


  • Supporting improvement in the Council's systems of governance, risk and internal control.
  • Planning, delivery and reporting of internal audit assignments,

Key duties::


  • Planning, delivery and reporting of internal audit assignments.
  • System, compliance, regularity / probity or riskbased audits.
  • Investigating alleged error, irregularity or fraud.
  • Auditing new initiatives, projects or developing systems
  • Provisioning of advice to clients on relevant audit, risk and internal control matters.
  • Evaluating and agreeing key areas for audit focus.
  • Communicating conclusions, findings, issues and risks to clients through persuasive verbal and written reports.
**Experiences required:
- ** Knowledge of governance, risk and control systems in contracts and procurement, counter fraud and investigation, information governance or ICT (as key risk areas for the Council).

  • Knowledge and experience of current audit techniques including nonfinancial audit areas, and audit management techniques.
