Description

We are looking for a Library Assistant to work in the historic Bodleian Old Library and Radcliffe Camera, assisting readers in their use of the library.

You will undertake a range of duties on front line desks, at all times providing high quality customer service. You will also participate in collection management projects across the library reading rooms.

The role involves lifting, carrying and moving books, and using trolleys.


You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, and have the ability to communicate effectively, confidently and courteously with readers, colleagues and the public.

You will have customer service experience and good general IT literacy. You will have good organisational skills, and have a proven ability to perform routine tasks with care and accuracy.

This is a permanent, full-time post working Monday to Friday.
