Description
Waddington Unit is a fast-paced clinical admission setting that cares for acutely unwell haematology and oncology patients. We deal with elective and emergency admissions.

Start date is from 1st April 2024,

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic ward clerk to join our team

We are looking for a Ward Clerk to work part time hours.

We are particularly looking for someone that is flexible as you will be expected to cover annual leave and possibly short term absence and training.


The Ward Clerk duties will include: communicating will all visitors to the ward, answering the telephone, updating Careflow (computer system) with all admissions / discharges. Ensuring all medical notes and current inpatient notes are filed correctly, oversee ordering and ensuring stationary stock is well maintained. Organizing and scheduling outpatient appointments including chemotherapy appointments and ensuring triages are inputted appropriately.

Work closely with the Oncology Assessment Unit to maintain excellent patient experience.


The above list is not exhaustive as you will also be expected to support with the collection of data that is completed on a monthly basis.

This data is specific to the ward.


We are therefore looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills to be a friendly welcome for our patients and their loved ones.

You must possess excellent customer service skills.
