Description

The General Practice Assistant (GPA) is a new role and provides a unique opportunity to work in the NHS primary care team.

The successful applicant will support the Primary Care Network in day to day running of clinics by performing the more routine tasks on behalf of the GPs in surgeries to deliver excelltnt patient care.

The can include; Administrative tasks Basic clinical duties Preparing patients to see the GP Explaining treatment procedures to patients Prioritising clinical post for the GP Testing urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs & phlebotomy Confidentiality In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters.

They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately In the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers.
