Skills for Life Tutor, English Specialist:

This is a Full time, term time only teaching post (41 weeks per year).

The salary is £33,047 to £38,078 plus London Weighting £3330 (pro rata, 41 weeks)

Role Purpose:

We are looking for enthusiastic English tutors to join our innovative and dynamic team and to teach across a range of levels in our well-equipped, modern stores with purpose built classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:


You will provide high quality teaching, learning and support for learners in the Post-19 education sector for Tower Hamlets Council.

You will be responsible for delivering excellent teaching and learning on RARPA assessed English programmes across the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

You will teach on a range of accredited and non-accredited programmes with learners working towards Functional Skills English qualifications as well as bespoke programmes which support learners into work and further study.


You will assist the Curriculum Managers to develop courses, schemes of work and assessment strategies which meet the wide ranging needs of learners across the borough.


Requirements:

Successful applicants will hold a PGCE or an equivalent level qualification.


Knowledge and experience of teaching mixed ability English Literacy groups as well as knowledge and understanding of current best practice in teaching and learning is essential.

This post requires an enhanced DBS and the ability to work one or two evenings a week as required.

Interviews will be held week commencing 19th and 26th June.


These vacancies are fixed term for 12 months in the first instance; 35 hours per week (term time only for 41 weeks)
