THE BUSINESS


We are currently seeking a motivated and determined Technical Estimator for our industry leading industrial controls and automation system engineering firm at their site in Sunderland.


THE ROLE

  • Proposing engineering solutions for customers
  • Validating those solutions
  • Estimating and quoting for those solutions
  • Pricing and negotiation including on start and end dates and overall timing plan
  • Agreeing quality measures
  • Supporting the delivery of commercial priorities and sales targets

This will be achieved through a mix of:

  • Sourcing costings for the end-to-end job
  • Providing quotation for internal sign off and onward transmission to customer
  • Ensuring the quote is comprehensive to include resource price, timescales, and the cost of materials
  • Validation of the quote with end of project outcome to learn lessons from experience
  • Researching materials and methods of development to keep up with world class standards of engineering
  • Working with the Engineering Team to establish feasibility, pricing and timescale estimates for the products and services demanded by the customer
  • Tailoring offerings to the needs of individual customers and frame the offer through expert knowledge of products and services aligned to the customer demand be flexible

THE PERSON

  • Ideally located within 30 miles of Sunderland
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience in an Engineering, Mechanical or Technical work place
  • 5 years in a senior capacity in complex engineering environment
  • Desire to win through negotiation
  • Interpersonal, persuasiveness and positive influencing
  • Range of industry competencies and licences, would be advantageous but not essential
  • Integrity and a passion for success
  • Accuracy of producing and proving quotation with the ability to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Sees value in record keeping and sharing of information to celebrate success and share experiences
