We are looking for somebody to join our busy and developing business working on a wide variety of food manufacturing sites across the south-west.

The position suits somebody with a range of practical hands-on experience who could adapt to a wide variety of maintenance related tasks.

The Company_
JTR was founded in 1998 and became incorporated in 2003 during which time we've grown to a team of thirtysix people based from our office just outside Exeter.
Initially the business focused solely on refrigeration but now supplies a range of services including factory installations, installation and maintenance of commercial refrigeration, electrical services, ventilation, plumbing and heatpumps.
We strive to offer an excellent level of service at a reasonable price and the business has grown through personal recommendation rather than active selling. We now have a core of long established and repeat customers.
The role_
You will be part of a small mobile team based in Exeter travelling to various factory premises to carry out small works and minor repairs and alterations designed to keep manufacturing areas in a foodsafe condition.
The majority of the work will involve repairing damaged laminated panels and flashings but will also extend to work on other factory services and is a good opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience.
Most of the work is in local food manufacturing and distribution sites, but a small number of overnight stays might be required.
The role requires some flexibility to work around production shifts and some weekend working is likely.
This is an hourly paid position for a standard 40hrs a week with ample opportunity for additional hours.
Weekday overtime is paid at 11⁄2 times the normal rate with double time on a Saturday and Sunday.
A vehicle, specialist tools and consumables will be provided.
Whilst not a necessity the role suits somebody with prior experience in carpentry or a similar skill who can turn their hand to a multitude of tasks.
You must be able to take responsibility for the standard of your work with the ability to work unsupervised.
You must be a selfstarter with a naturally high standard of workmanship prepared to deliver an excellent service
Your health and safety standards must be excellent.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
