We're looking for caring and compassionate nurses (RGNs) to join us as Sexual Offence Examiners to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.

Each region has its own dedicated SARC (sexual assault referral centre) which offers support and practical help to anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault.

Our services are co-funded by the police and the NHS.

The nursing team are responsible for providing a dedicated 24/7 service for forensic and acute health needs and requirements.

As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you'll receive full training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post.

This is a vacancy of 40 hours per week on a Fixed Term Contract of months.

Shift patterns will be 9am - 5pm, 5pm - 1am, and 1am - 9am.
The Sexual Offence Examiners will be responsible for (duties will include, but are not limited to):

providing telephone advice to patients and colleagues.

- undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
- using a camera system to document injuries.
- sharing information where appropriate.
- producing individual management plans.
- supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
- forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.

Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel may be a requirement of the role across Kent, Surrey, and Sussex, therefore a UK driving licence is required for this role.

Essential Skills:

Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, Paramedic.
A minimum of 3 years' postqualification experience acute medical healthcare experience.
Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults.
Knowledge and understanding confidentiality.
Phlebotomy trained.
A full UK driving licence.

Desired Skills:

Experience of working with individuals with complex needs.
Experience of working with individuals who have experienced sexual assault/violence.
Gynae, sexual health, A&E, experience beneficial.
Speculum skills.
