Description

The School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography seeks to appoint a three-year, fixed-term Early Career Departmental Lecturer in Social Anthropology from the start of the 2023/24 academic year.


You will have an aptitude for teaching and some experience of teaching across social anthropology, with both breadth and depth of knowledge and a full command of the relevant literature.


You will contribute primarily to teaching, supervision and examining for the MSc and MPhil courses in Social Anthropology, this includes the opportunity to design and deliver an option course in an area of your own expertise and interest.

There will also be opportunities to teach social anthropology topics to a mixed cohort of undergraduate and postgraduate students, to contribute lectures designed for first-year undergraduates, and to contribute to graduate classes and seminars.

You will also be asked to supervise MSc students, covering a broad range of topics drawn from the core syllabus, and to set and mark examinations.


12 noon on Friday 21st April 2023.

We expect to hold interviews in the week commencing 15th May 2023.
