Purpose of the Role:
The Electro-Mechanical Assembly Team Leader is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing included (but not limited too) H&S, Quality, Production, Projects, Continuous Improvement, Labour, KPI Management.
Role Overview:
To control and improve all production processes within the departments by managing people, time and resources to meet the business targets.
One vital part of the role is being hands-on and having a good knowledge of the assembly processes, so can advise on build strategies as well as supporting the team members.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Review the production schedule to determine manufacturing requirements in terms of manning, capacity and resources.
- Achieve monthly output levels.
- Supervise and develop team members and managing individuals.
- The control, organisation and coordination of the assembly workshop.
- Control of assembly processes to ensures that the latest strategies are applied to all products passing through the workshop to fully utilise the department capabilities.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained in a satisfactory condition to maintain product quality and improve the general environment.
- Develop plans to achieve the Company's objectives.
- Liaise with design office to supply set & run times for customer product quotes.
- Review nonconformance products and quality problem areas and action to resolve.
- Identify key performance monitors (KPI's) for each area on key outputs and display in the appropriate areas.
- Instigate disciplinary procedures where necessary.
- Identify improvement opportunities and prioritise in order of importance.
- Responsibility for data ownership and the updating of business process documents.
- Performs/prepares build or inspection activities before and during product manufacturing.
- Delivers production requirements by following instructions/processes.
- Electronics assembly inspection support.
- Delivers in production and inspection activities following instructions and processes to ensure technology is delivered effectively, efficiently, ontime, to specification and in a cost effective manner.
- Working alongside engineers to develop new products.
- Manufacturing complex prototypes to a high standard.
- Assisting in the creation of manufacturing instructions.
- Providing training to the production team at the point of development manufacturing handover.
- Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.
- Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
- Responsible for general housekeeping within their area.
- Assist in work centre housekeeping and any 5S activities.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- General experience of all aspects of box build manufacturing processes.
- Proactive and able to take initiative.
- Experience in a similar role with knowledge of electronic components & test equipment.
- Good mechanical knowledge.
- Excellent use of hand tools.
- Good knowledge of IPC-JSTD001, IPC610 & IPC7711/7721 & IPC/WHMA-A620D.
- General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.
- Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through jobrelated training and considerable onthejob expertise.
- Good time management.
- Good attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production standards and efficiency.
- Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
