Role Description

Job Purpose:

To manage retailers web based specifications for all Princes soft Drinks Sites (based from our Bradford site) and ensure their accurate and timely submission and update; when process or packaging changes are requested.


  • Assist in the management of Technical and IT related issues within the Bradford site, including issue of product bar codes and factory recipes/specification documents: which assist our factory operatives.
  • Support Bradford site vision, to be the home of operational excellence and the customer's first choice soft drinks manufacturer

Principal Responsibilities: Be supportive, act with integrity, show enthusiasm and embrace openness

  • Have an understanding of the Princes Manufacturing System (PMS) and maturity matrix, and site must win battle plans
  • Understand and implement lean manufacturing work practices including 5s, AM, problem solving (including root cause analysis) to drive continuous improvement activity at site
  • Participate in external training sessions as and when retailers update their electronic specification systems.
  • Participate in product launch meetings and other meetings where key quality and technical information is being briefed.
  • Ensure Specifications are submitted on time, in full and retailer KPI's are fully met for all Soft Drinks products.
  • Work with Managers from NPD and ensure that data is transferred onto the production systems, so that product launches are not delayed.
  • Issue product launch checksheets and assist production in ensuring all components and processes have been checked before the launch date.
  • Attend product launches with NPD and retailer presence and give Technical support.
  • Utilise SAP to up date and create site information to match the specification.
  • To assist with the management of supplier approval.
  • To manage the complaints systems used on site and to monitor the speed of return of sample reports from the Laboratory to ensure prompt reply to retailers or head office, (this task includes arranging for collections of samples and ensuring accurate letters are produced and promptly sent.
  • To re order acid and caustic as required in the absence of the Quality Improvement Leader
  • To manage the receipt and storage of certificates of analysis for all raw materials on a weekly basis, which includes liaising with the Goods inwards staff and scanning certificates onto the SAP system
  • To assist with general administrative duties such as sending self audit forms to suppliers and managing the tracking systems currently in place. To participate in third party audits when this data is being reviewed.

Role Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Degree or HND in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline preferred, or relevant experience.
  • Experience of SAP, CPD, HAMIL
