The Trust is looking to appoint an individual to the position of Health, Safety & Security Specialist.


Working closely with the Health, Safety & Security Lead and other Senior Managers the Health, Safety & Security Specialist is responsible for leading on The Violence, Prevention & Reduction Strategic Plan and the day-to-day management of the Health, Safety & Security Advisers to implement and manage Health & Safety within the Trust, which involves a regime of continual auditing, monitoring, and review, so that the Trust has discharged their statutory obligations across all operational activity whilst delivering a strong Safety Culture.


  • To lead the implementation of designated health and safety activities/ projects, advising on appropriate health and safety strategies and actions.
  • To ensure that the Trusts health and safety practices are developed in order that the highest standards are achieved.
  • To manage safety and security inspections of premises across the Trust and ensure are carried out in line with the annual plan.
  • To produce reports on security management including information on staff security and Violence, Prevention and Reduction. Incorporating action planning and monitoring.
  • To provide training, advice and are support on all aspects of Health & Safety and Security management issues and legislative implications to groups of staff dependent on their role, including large groups and individual focused support.
  • To be responsible for the daytoday management of staff within the Health, Safety & Security Team including appointments, sickness management and appraisal.


The members of the Health, Safety & Security Team are located throughout the six counties of the East of England and work from both our offices based, at various regional headquarters, as well as from home.

This flexibility is of great benefit to support our staff across the Trust and team members and is agreed directly with line management.
