Hendy Group are delighted to share a new senior leadership role providing opportunity for an experienced and proven senior bodyshop professional to join our Service Directorate as Head of Bodyshop Operations. This role has been created due to an exciting period of continued growth and investment, and will provide the successful postholder the chance to capitalise on the market, explore further opportunities for the Division, improve connections with our customers, as well as playing an important role in developing talent for the future.

This role will report to our Group Service & Bodyshop Director.

We are flexible on base location, however frequent regional travel will be required to fulfil the needs of our multi-site organisation.

The Head of Bodyshop Operations Opportunity
In this role you will have overall responsibility for leading the entire Group Bodyshop and Smart Repair operations. You will lead established Accident and Repair Centre Managers alongside our Smart Repair Operatives and Supervisors. Totalling approximately 40 colleagues and responsible for delivering a turnover of nearly £4m annually.

With responsibility for overseeing multiple locations across the South Coast, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Being accountable for deploying fiscal and experiential improvement strategies,
  • Driving performance and behaviour outcomes through your team,
  • Coach and role model our Senior Management Team,
  • Budgetary planning and ownership,
  • Development of our Management Information reporting,
  • Representing the Group when required,
  • Build and develop infrastructure for rapid growth,
  • Demonstrate the Hendy values

About you:


What is important to us is that you have proven experience in Senior Management with an understanding of Bodyshop Operations both internally and externally, whether that be in a small group looking to progress, or currently operating at a strategic level looking for larger scale.


Taking into account this is a Senior Leadership role, you will have demonstrable experience in the effective direction of managers to drive performance through their teams.

You will be an advocate for personal and team development and demonstrate first class leadership and motivation skills, with the ability to work comfortably in a matrix structure.


You will need to be an articulate communicator, building relationships and influencing at all levels across a variety of stakeholder groups to instigate change within the directorate.
