PTS Rail ¦ Civil Engineering

Location - East Kilbride, Scotland

An exciting opportunity for experienced Skilled Operatives (s) to join our team in Scotland working on a portfolio of civils infrastructure and rail civils and building projects throughout Central Scotland.

Business Unit

A busy and fast paced project and maintenance environment involving in a range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects, working for a varied range of clients including Local Authorities, Network Rail and Environmental.

Projects can typically include civil engineering works and infrastructure projects such as:

Highways & Roads, underbridges, overbridges and footbridges, tunnels, flood alleviation & repairs, earthworks & embankments and rail platforms and station infrastructure etc.

We currently have a number of live infrastructure projects and long term renewals and maintenance frameworks underway including Civils Asset Management (CAM), Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF) and a Slabtrack framework.

The Role

As a Skilled Operative or Craftsman you will have the responsibility for the completion of designated tasks on site under the supervision of the Site Foreman/Supervisor, ensuring the works are completed without harm to people, the environment and targeting zero defects.

Day to day duties and responsibilities will typically include but not be limited to:

Operate and carry out job set tasks.
Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements.
Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out Checks on any equipment that may use.
Ensure safe tidy place of work.
Ensure the completion of works is on time.
Implement best practice procedures.
Maximise use of own working time.
Ensure signed up to all permits and briefings before commencing any work.
Communication with site management.
Communicate with site supervisor on any concerns.
Feedback to site management with near miss reporting.
Ensure attend all site briefings and forums.
Other tasks as may from time to time be deemed necessary and are authorised by line managers

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Skilled Operative of Craftsman in a rail and civil engineering environment.

PTS
CSCS
CPCS
Experience as a Skilled Operative in a rail infrastructure projects and civils contracting environment.
Experience in rail working on civil engineering and building projects
