Health & Safety Manager - Job Spec


Our client is an established and growing fit out contractor who undertake varied projects throughout the commercial office, retail, food, leisure and hospitality industries, working across the South West.

They are currently searching for a Health & Safety Manager to oversee all H&S function within the business.


About the role:



  • Develop and ensure the effective implementation of the companies H&S improvement plans.



  • Report straight to Directorship level and contribute to strategic management of the company through ongoing expansion



  • Ensure the highest standards for health, safety and environmental management are achieved on all projects.



  • Ensure compliance with the UK/EU Legislation latest guidance relating to safety, health and the environment.



  • Supporting the project teams in creating, updating and implementing the Risk Assessments and Method Statements including all supporting documentation in relation to fire, traffic, occupational health etc.



  • Actively promote a strong health and safety culture company wide.



  • Monitor training and competency of staff.



  • Liaise with local authority and external stakeholders.



  • Undertake routine monitoring of ongoing projects.



  • Lead and run regular HSE meetings.



  • Record data and report against agreed KPI's.



  • Participate in the regular HSE contracts meetings.



  • Maintain the Integrated Management System.



  • Ensure that appropriate records are maintained in compliance with legal requirements.



  • Demonstrate continued commitment to develop as a professional in the fields of H&S.



  • Commitment to support and demonstrate by example the company's Vision, Mission and Values.



  • Proven H&S track record within the construction industry.



  • Minimum 5 years H&S experience required.

Qualifications desirable:



  • NEBOSH Construction



  • IOSH



  • CSCS



  • Additional H&S Training certificates
