Have you ever wondered how YOU can make a difference contributing to saving lives every day?The operational Support directorate at the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust are a dedicated and vital support network which assists our front-line clinicians in providing excellent care to people living in the East of England, 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day covering six counties - Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk.
This dynamic role has shift pattern covering 12-hour days & nights, covering 365 days.
Your role will involve preparing ambulances for operational duty and to maintain the serviceability of emergency ambulances, equipment and consumables.
The Trust has embarked on a transformation plan to ensure we can meet the challenges of the future by taking delivery of purpose-built ambulances and vehicles, and we have also commissioned the building and upgrading of a large number our Hubs across all six counties that we cover - Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk.
As well as keeping the ambulances ready for operational duties, you will also ensure correct levels of stock and equipment assets are assigned to each vehicle, along with accurately recording the withdrawal of stock electronically.
You will need to be willing to work shifts, include nights and weekends and be flexible in line with service needs.
Good communication skills and a basic understanding of IT is essential along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Your role will also involve moving ambulances and vehicles so a UK driving licence with a commitment to attaining a full C1 within 12 months of commencement into role is mandatory.

Your duties will include replacing, re-stocking equipment and cleaning vehicles (to IPC standards) using systemic processes and specialist equipment and chemicals within an emergency vehicle.
These activities are both essential and critical - making you a vital part and a critical link between the technicians and paramedics and the excellent patient care we deliver.
You will be liaising with vehicle technicians with regards to vehicle maintenance requirements and will be required to communicate accurately and effectively within the team.
Please note Bank staff are paid an hourly rate for hours worked, and as such are paid 1 month in arrears, following submission of timesheets.
