  • To be responsible for actively participating as a key member of the clinical team for providing quality services for people experiencing first episode psychosis under the supervision of registered professionals.
  • To work alongside front line staff to embed physical healthcare.
  • To work in bespoke and creative ways to support holistic physical health care planning, including supporting the provision of physical health screening and intervention service for service users with severe mental illness needs as described in the Five Year Forward View and NHS Long Term Plan.

To plan and implement effective physical health clinics for service users experiencing first episode psychosis, making accurate recordings and
sharing outcomes.

To provide interventions, including phlebotomy and sign posting to support service users to improve their physical health outcomes.

To work with MDT colleagues to promote physical health and collaborate
with case managers in relation to physical health outcomes within care and
treatment planning.

Take part in any required training in order to maintain skills necessary to undertake physical health checks.

Contributing to the wider team to support the promotion of positive lifestyle choices, physical health and wellbeing.

Ensure accurate records are kept in relation to physical health checks and
interventions as well as leading on reporting outcomes.


Be involved in updating audits, policies and procedures to support the development and effectiveness of our physical health interventions and ensure they reflect current practices and guidelines.

To implement procedures related to stock control, taking responsibility for
checking adequate equipment available for effective functioning of a clinic.

To take responsibility for instigating calibration of equipment and reporting
faulty equipment as required.

With support from team clinical nurse specialists, lead on chairing the team's bi-monthly physical health meetings, outcoming actions arising from this as appropriate
