Key Responsibilities:


  • Reporting into the IFRS 17 Reporting Manager as the IFRS17 Accountant
  • Initially to work within the programme team delivering IFRS17, then transitioning into BAU delivery team owning the IFRS17 process and accounting within Finance's Reporting team structure.
  • Drafting and review of the IFRS 17 financial statement numbers and disclosure notes
  • Maintaining the chart of accounts, review of the IFRS 17 ledger postings and preparation and review of IFRS 17 disclosure reconciliations
  • Review of KPI's and any other financial performance measures used internally or disclosed in annual report
  • Aiding with the review and sign off of data landed and output from the solution ensuring it is compliant with IFRS 1
  • Other adhoc tasks as required by the IFRS 17 Reporting manager and Head of Group and Statutory Reporting
  • Use business knowledge to identify potential errors with financial impact and take steps to prevent and/or correct such errors, highlighting where necessary to management.
  • Act as a conduit between the Finance department and other departments in order to maintain financial data integrity.
  • Produce and maintain procedures documentation for own tasks.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experienced qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience of the insurance market, preferably Lloyd's
  • Experience of business partnering within complex insurance organisations and knowledge of accounting policies adopted
  • Experience of IFRS17 and other regulatory accounting standards
  • Experience liaising with third party consultancies
  • External audit experience either as part of an audit team or as part as a finance team
