We have positions available for a Driver to join the team at North Tyneside hospital


Please note that it is a requirement of NHFML that all successful applicants pay for their own DBS certificate, if a DBS check is required for the post.

The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first monthly pay.


Main duties will include:


  • Driving, cleaning, refuelling and maintaining l vehicles
  • Delivery of goods collection of, Mail, Pharmacy, specimens, Stores and equipment as required.
  • ADHOC delivery requests
Uniform will be provided.

Established in 2012, NHFM provide specialist project management services for large and small capital developments, estates maintenance and a full range of facilities services.

Carrying out facilities management for a state-of-the-art specialist emergency care hospital - The Northumbria, three general hospitals - North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham hospitals - and a number of smaller community hospitals and clinic sites, we cover one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country.


  • Collection and delivery of mail and specimens to and from the main hospital sites to other locations within the trust.
  • To deliver pharmacy, pathology and NHS supplies as required.
  • To collect and deliver surgical instruments from GP Practices to main sites for cleaning.
  • Attend training courses as required in line with trust policies and procedures.
  • Ensure vehicle is maintained in accordance with trust policies and is kept clean.
  • Collect and deliver dirty/clean linen from locations across the trust.
  • Collect clinical waste and dispose of in accordance with guidelines.
  • Collect household refuse and confidential waste and dispose of in the correct manner.
  • Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed and signatures obtained for items delivered and received as appropriate.
  • ADHOC delivery requests
  • Training new drivers as necessary.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Management.
