Accounts Receivable Assistant (PART TIME)

Days/Hours per week: 3 days, 28 hours (days can be flexible)

Salary:
up to £24-28K per annum FTE which equates to £14,400 - £16,800

Our team ensures that all aspects of a best-practice Finance function are available to Climate Bonds, working efficiently and effectively, with accuracy and speed, partnering and supporting our colleagues, managing financial risk and protecting income, and producing excellent, timely management information.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for managing income.

The post holder will develop excellent working relationships with colleagues in income-generating teams and will understand all aspects of invoice raising for grants and commercial activity, as well as the requirements of income recording.

The post will also be responsible for credit control in a not-for-profit environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage all incoming funds for grants, donations, commercial and any other income, correctly recording the details and amounts received and maintain records of outstanding balances.
  • Manage the requirements for allowing overseas customers to pay our entities
  • Collecting payment on outstanding invoices
  • Providing outstanding credit control
  • Reducing the aged debtors balances through close working with invoiceraising teams to identify contacts at customer organisations and chasing debts appropriately
  • Reporting on aged debtors & control account reconciliation
  • Other duties
  • Supporting monthly management reporting by providing information to the Finance Business Partner on aged debtors
  • Supporting Finance Manager and Accounting Assistant with cover or ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Accurate and timely debtors reporting to last day of month with ageing and additional insight/analysis as required. Customer feedback

Health and safety

  • Take care for the health and safety of self and others who may be affected by your work
  • Cooperate fully with Climate Bonds Initiative's management with regard to the requirements of Health and Safety legislation to allow the duties and requirements to be carried out or complied with

Requirements:


ESSENTIAL

  • Minimum 3 years' experience of working within a Finance Team
  • Evidence of responsibilities over invoice raising and credit control
  • Relevant accounting qualification, or working towards
  • Highly organised, with experience of dealing with a range of priorities, planning and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong core accounting skills are vital, along with excellent numeracy and the ability to produce timely, accurate and uptodate reports.
  • Personable, driven, well presented, selfmotivated and capable of representing the organisation's ethos and aims at all times.
  • Takes pride in the accuracy of their work & strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure, to an excellent standard.
  • Confidence to cope with challenging behaviour/resistance in others.
  • Be a selfdriven and motivated individual with a passion for what they bring to the team.
  • Able to demonstrate a passion for providing excellent Customer Service, going above and beyond expectations and developing professional working relationships with Clients and the team.

DESIRABLE

  • Flexible approach to communicate with a wide range of people, in a calm, confident and professional manner.
  • Formal accounting qualification such as AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA or similar
  • Experience of Xledger accounting software
  • Experience of working in a complex, multicurrency, international environment
  • Experience of strong systems and processes within a professional organisation
  • Passionate in the fight against climate change
  • Experience of working in a notforprofit environment
  • An understanding of restricted funds
