Page Personnel is partnering with a retail business based in Portsmouth who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their accountancy team on a full time permanent basis.

Client Details
Our client is a successful retail business who have seen rapid growth in the past 12 months.

They are based in Portsmouth and do require travel to their offices but do also offer a hybrid model of working.

Description
As the Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:

Assisting the retail finance team as required in weekly and period end tasks, including preparation & posting of journals, bridge analysis concentrating on but not limited to opex, stock and delivery charges.
Building and maintaining a business partnership with non finance colleagues providing information and analysis to assist in delivery of their requirements.
Being the lead expert on operating expenses, stock & delivery charges proactively analysing and understanding the end to end process in order to add value and opinion.
Support the budgeting and forecast process.
Support finance training and presentations to nonfinance colleagues
Accurate and timely creation of reports as required
Ownership for the stock reconciliation of the food retail business.
Accurate & timely collation of weekly sales figures for internal and external parties
Balance Sheet reconciliations of specific account codes as directed.
Assist with completion of interim and final audit tasks

Profile
To be successful for the Assistant Account role, you must:

Team player and proven communication skills with the personal credibility to work with non-financial colleagues at all levels
High levels of accuracy coupled with personal flexibility with the ability to operate to tight period end deadlines
Proficient in the use of excel supported by generally high levels of IT literacy with ability to manipulate data, identify trends and produce summary information
Ability to influence stakeholders using technical and practical knowledge/experience
Experience of working within a finance department proven ability of management accounts, accruals, prepayments & analysis
CIMA Studier, with desire to progress and continue with professional qualifications

Job Offer
**Salary £25,000 - £29,000
