One or two Personal Care Assistants (Male or Female) for twin boys with autism in DH7 area:

Either one or two Personal Care Assistants (Male or Female) required to support twin boys with autism, aged 11 years, who live in the Sacriston area of Durham.

£12.00 per hour for a total of up to 15 hours a week term time (7.5 hours with each child) and up to 30 hours a week school holidays (15 hours with each child).
Term time work will be weekends, preferably Saturday.

  • The boys you will be supporting are both autistic and non verbal, but show no aggression towards others. You will be providing one on one interaction, sensory or activity stimulation, promoting OT based activities during respite time on weekend, preferably on a Saturday.
Assisting includes personal hygiene and toileting needs.

  • The boys need to be taken out for at least 7 hours a day on weekends.
  • You would work with each boy individually, so the role would suit either one worker to cover all of the hours or two workers who could do half of the hours each, so please get in touch and let us know if you are interested in these positions, and also let us know whether you are interested in either 15 hours or 7.5 hours a week.

Additional information:


  • Some experience of working with ASD children would be preferred.
  • A driving licence is essential
  • Some hours of care will need to be provided in support worker's own home.
  • The twins are physically agile
  • An enhanced DBS will be required, the cost will be covered by employer.
