The Client


Medway Community Mental Health team provides support and treatment in the community to those between the ages of 18-65 who are experiencing a mental illness.

We provide assessment of their current need and treatment for service users with moderate to severe mental health needs.

The team includes psychiatrists, community mental health nurses, occupational therapists, psychological services and support staff.


The Role


We have a fantastic opportunity to recruit rotational Band 6 Occupational Therapists to work in our well established supportive rotation.

You will be providing care to a diverse group of patients, providing high quality, evidenced based treatment.

You will be working within a flexible and friendly team of staff who strive to improve the outcome of patients by providing them with the best possible,evidenced based care.


Skills & Abilities

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC registration
  • BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Acute NHS experience through previous employment / student placement
  • Experience of MDT working
  • Experience of moving and handling of patients
  • Variety of relevant clinical experience

Knowledge

Essential

  • Flexible & reliable
  • Approachable to patients relatives and other staff internal / external to the Trust
  • Professional and customer care skills
  • Able to deal with a variety of environmental factors
  • IT literate proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of a range of physical health conditions and discharge planning processes

Desirable

  • Knowledge of SystemOne
