Page Personnel are recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join a busy team at a company based in Leeds city centre.


Client Details


The company are a Engineering Solutions company based in Leeds city centre and they are recruiting an extra head to their Payroll Team.

This role can be full time and 5 days a week or part time working 4 days a week.


Description

  • Responsible for processing and overseeing the monthly payroll currently around 7,500 employees
  • Processing of monthly changes for all employees maternity/paternity/sickness absences/bonuses etc
  • Responsible for monitoring cutoff dates and ensuring all information is received in advance of the prescribed deadlines
  • Sound awareness of tax and national insurance calculations, understanding the manual calculation of these and other statutory deductions
  • Knowledge of pensions and salary sacrifice schemes
  • Responsible for liaising with third party providers
  • Strong understanding of all statutory obligations within the Payroll function, including all efiling submission and payment obligations
  • Knowledge of pension schemes administration
  • DB/DC and Local Government
  • To assist in the provision of specific information on request including that requested by external and internal audits; information in support or mortgage requests; data for the National Statistic Office on request
  • Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Payroll Services helpdesk, a tool for managing all queries raised by employees and third parties
  • Responsible for ensuring all assignment Helpdesk queries are resolved within SLA
  • Other responsibilities as requested on an adhoc basis by the Team leader, Head of Payroll, or other members of Finance and/or HR teams

Profile

Essential Skills

  • Experience of working within a busy Payroll Department within a medium to large organisation.
  • Certificate in Payroll Practice desirable (or willingness to study CPP)
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • ERP system literate
  • Ability to use own initiative to solve everyday issues.
  • Ability to manage time and work to deadline pressures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a systematic and procedural approach.
  • Customer service facing experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of managing projects annual cycle/acquisitions/TUPE
