In this role you will have the opportunity to support the delivery of category plans and insights for our Birds Eye UK & Ireland business.
This role is a great foundation for learning the ropes of Category Management; you will be able to build strategic relationships with commercial, Revenue Growth Management and Marketing teams & be a pivotal contact in providing the necessary insights to make key business decisions.
This role will also have the responsibility of having ownership for the category relationship for our convenience channel customers.This includes the development and delivery of category reviews and reports, range, and merchandising plans, and implementing category strategy work.
The role holder will also be responsible for ensuring reporting for the Convenience Channel is delivered on time and in full.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a working knowledge of the Frozen Food Category, its trends, shopper behaviours, growth forecast and how it interacts with other categories across the store.
- Download and analysis monthly data sources (EPOS/Kantar/Nielsen/Loyalty data)
- Create monthly reports/deliverables from data sources.
- Turning market & retailer data into truly actionable insights.
- Sharing category insights across the Category Development team, and to internal stakeholder where actions can be taken.
- Working with the wider teams to turn trends and insights into commercial opportunities
- Micro & Macro space management across Frozen
- Identifying and realising distribution and ranging opportunities.
- Champion the category agenda for the Convenience channel within Birds Eye UK
- Work closely with outside agencies to increase Convenience shopper understanding & ensure that this is applied in the development of the category plan
- Implement the category plan. Develop and execute strategies to maximise range, space, location, availability and macro space incorporating all category growth levers
- Own the tracking and implementation of distribution Core Range opportunities
- Build relationships with key customers in the Convenience channel using regular data and the Frozen Foods category vision to identify category building opportunities
- Ensure tactics within the plan are executed in store. Evaluate the impact & ensure that learnings feed into future planning & activation across the channel
Qualifications:
Essential
- Of graduate calibre
- Strong Organisation and Communication Skills
- Comfortable with data, analytical, curious, and inquisitive.
- Comfortable at working at pace, and quickly deriving the actions that need to be taken.
- Ability to present ideas, data, & insights in a compelling and engaging way.
- Presenting skills
- Understanding of the principles of Category Management
Desirable
- Previous FMCG experience is desirable but if you are comfortable in a fastpaced environment and able to manage changing prioritise, this is not a prerequisite.
- Experience in deriving insights from data (either through working with a data agency or in an insights role).
- Graduate who has been on a Graduate Development scheme in FMCG, retail or data/research agency
