Role Overview
A transport planner is required to join a small team to plan and manage daily deliveries. Vehicle fleet includes up to 40 vehicles, from 7.5T to 44T including animal feed bulk blowers and curtain sided.


The role:

  • Plan inhouse fleet vehicle deliveries of animal feed to farms and agricultural businesses and organize driver schedules.
  • Liaise closely with production to coordinate production planning and deliveries.
  • Ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with in a professional, timely and competent manner
  • To ensure that communication channels are open and maintained with other internal departments and customers
  • Daily Driver debrief.
  • Ensure efficient use of vehicles.
  • Manage day to day drivers issues.
  • Ad-Hoc transport office duties.

You will have:

Essential skills
Previous experience of transport planning for a manufacturing business is required.


Desirable skills

  • Experience of planning inhouse vehicle fleet for bulk or bagged product deliveries.
  • Knowledge or experience of agriculture.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge and experience of routing vehicles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • An understanding of compliance within the transport industry.
  • Ability to build positive working relations with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Must be IT literate (Including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel).
  • The ability to work under pressure within a busy transport office.
  • Experience in an operational role in a logistics or haulage business.
  • Paragon experience would be advantageous
  • C & E Licence preferable
Salary Circa £30,000 dependent on experience.


You will be required to work on rota during the following operational hours; transport office will be open 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays 6am-2pm and some weekend on call.
