About the role


The Bodleian Law Library is one of the largest academic law libraries in the country, and provides services to readers from the University, wider academia, and the legal profession.

You will join the team that provides the Bodleian Law Library's evening services.

You will answer directional inquiries, help readers to use the online catalogue, and provide initial assistance with equipment that includes printers and photocopiers.

You will issue books, and share in book shelving and tidying duties. Other tasks include loose-leaf filing and collecting statistics. You will receive training in these tasks if you need it.

This is a permanent, part-time term-time only post.

Hours of work are Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7pm - 10pm (9 working hours per week during the eight-week University term).

This role requires lifting, moving and carrying books and journals.


About you
You will possess good IT skills, a proven commitment to customer service and experience of working collaboratively with colleagues.

You will work carefully and accurately and show discretion when dealing with sensitive information.

Demonstrable interest in working with legal materials and/or experience working in a library or similar setting is desirable.

Good time keeping is essential.
