Main duties of the job:
The Private Patients Unit is seeking an experienced Private Patients Inpatient Administration Coordinator with excellent communication skills who is customer focused with previous private inpatients coordination and administration experience preferably within a NHS environment.
Reporting to the Private Patients Unit Inpatients Administration Supervisor, you will be responsible for administering the Private Patients Unit's inpatients' services and reception daily functions.
Working a variable rota that runs Saturdays to Mondays from 7am to 8pm, you will be responsible for manning the inpatients' reception and carrying out the daily administrative functions including inpatient and theatre bookings as well as insurance authorisations.
You will engage with; patients, consultants, referrers and external providers as well as staff members across all other departments within the wider trust to provide them with world class care customer service.
You will be responsible for covering for the Private Patients Administration CoordinatorYou will have a working knowledge of Compucare, Cerner, CRIS, EDRM, IRRIS, EPR and Microsoft Office

Education and Competencies:
Essential criteria:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
Desirable criteria:
- Courses / further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development
Experience:
Essential criteria:
- Previous experience of working in a front of house customer facing environment in a private healthcare environment
- Substantial experience in a customer service environment
- Understanding of the requirements regarding patient confidentiality
Skills and Aptitiudes:
Essential criteria:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer care practice, being polite, sympathetic, patient and diplomatic
- Highly numerate and Comfortable discussing payment requirements with patients
- IT competent user of appropriate systems; Microsoft Office Applications, Cerner, Compucare, IRRIS, CRIS, PACS, EPR, EDRM
- Team worker

- Flexible (post holder will be required to work shifts)
- Team work and ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships within different teams and relevant administrative, clinical and management staff
