Crop Health and Protection (CHAP) Ltd is one of four UK Agri-Tech Centres launched under BEIS supported by Innovate UK in 2015.
As a unique, independent nexus between UK government, researchers and industry, CHAP builds innovation networks to identify and accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions to drive transformative change in sustainable crop productivity.
Overall Job Purpose
Main duties and responsibilities
- Lead an exceptional and cohesive marketing team.
- Work with the marketing team to set the marketing strategy to increase CHAP's customer base, number of leads for collaboration and engagement.
- Work closely with the New Innovation team to understand groundbreaking technologies any new capabilities on the horizon, where they fit and how we will promote/market them in the future.
- Monitor success of campaigns and initiatives.
- Effectively communicate the marketing programme to the Executive, Board, Partners etc.
- Market Research/Business Intelligence.
- Manage the department marketing budget.
Other Duties
- Comply with the policies and procedures of CHAP at all time, adhering to legal and political requirements of the crop health arena.
- Provide line management, manage performance and offer coaching and guidance to develop the effectiveness of the marketing team.
- Develop close and productive working relationships across all CHAP teams, showing leadership and support, and educating efficient ways of working.
- Attend events and conferences as applicable representing CHAP.
- Comply with governance reporting requirements on all marketing activities.
- Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Qualifications and Experience
Must haves:
- Degree level or equivalent experience in Plant Sciences or similar
- Significant Marketing experience /qualification
- Previous Management skills
- Wide knowledge of the Agri-Tech sector.
- Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to present ideas and concepts to a broad set of audiences.
- Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong relationship building ability.
- Polite, persuasive, and professional communication.
