Job Introduction

Due to the recent success of the team we are looking to recruit a Supervisor into our Retail & Consumer team on a permanent basis.

The team are responsible for handling a wide variety of pre-litigation casualty claims for a large retailer client, the majority of which involve EL/PL personal injury alongside a smaller portfolio of product liability and property damage matters.

Our market leading teams works with large self-insured corporates in a specialist division, CIR.

Main Responsibilities
Through effective management, supervision and coaching of claims handlers, to be accountable for the following:

  • Ensuring files are run pro-actively and effectively to conclusion, with all appropriate deadlines met and procedures followed.
  • Ensuring handlers work effectively to meet the needs of the client and commercial requirements of the firm, driving high performance and addressing any performance concerns or conduct issues to include:
  • Accurate and timely completion of MI
  • Adherence to internal and client SLAs and KPIs
  • Instigation of clear case strategies
  • Direct line management for a team of claims handlers, including responsibility for overall performance, motivation, training and development through effective supervision and communication and managing any performance concerns or escalations.
  • Ensuring any client complaint, emerging risk or compliance issues within a case are identified, addressed and escalated as required
  • Ensuring high standards of service and professionalism are delivered to the client at all times
  • Previous supervisory and / or team management experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of handling casualty cases with a proven track record of achieving success
  • A confident and articulate individual with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Evidence of effective people management skills including the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members at all levels
  • Organised with excellent time management skills in order to be able handle and prioritise multiple demands and deadlines
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm's Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).
