Position Overview:


Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored assistance to two Year 1 pupils with special educational needs.

Your role will involve working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and parents to create and implement personalised learning plans, ensuring that the children's specific needs are met effectively.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for the pupils, incorporating specific strategies and accommodations.
  • Provide oneonone support to the pupils in the classroom, ensuring their active participation and engagement in all aspects of the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and selfconfidence.
  • Utilise a range of resources and teaching techniques to facilitate learning, including visual aids, sensory activities, and assistive technology.
  • Monitor and track the progress of the pupils, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
  • Support the pupils with their social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with other members of the school community, including parents, to ensure consistent and holistic support for the pupils.

Requirements:


  • Relevant qualifications and experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • A strong understanding of different special educational needs and strategies to support individual learning requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • The capacity to adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the diverse needs of the pupils.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay updated with best practices in SEN education.
