(BDUK), currently has employees at 18 locations throughout the UK supporting Ministry of Defence (MoD) Programmes.


The purpose of Fixed Wing Execution Supply Chain Management is to ensure effective delivery of goods and services to support the success of BDUK programmes as defined through BDUK strategy.

The Supply Chain Team (SCT) has responsibility for forecasting, proposal management and contract change; component maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO); inventory maintenance; procurement and supplier management; and warehouse storage and parts distribution.


Job Description/Responsibilities:


You will provide tactical Supply Chain support to UK Fixed Wing activities and contracts utilizing Supply Chain Support Best Practice.

Responsible to the Fixed Wing Execution Manager. You will be aware and ensure compliance across the SC team of Boeings Go4Zero H&S Policies and Security Protocols.


Scope of the Role:


  • Develop and implement Supply Chain Strategies to optimise efficiency, reduce costs and improve overall performance.
  • Effectively communicating with customer and Boeing stakeholders at all levels of each organisation to ensure alignment and transparency across the supply chain.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards in line with contractual and BDUK policies.
  • Develop, monitor and support contractual and internal KPI's to report and measure Supply Chain performance.
  • Overseeing Inventory levels to balance supply and demand forecasts including resolving issues identified within the team.
  • Monitor and develop training requirements within the team in consultation with Supply Chain Management.
  • Escalation of known problems and reduce risk to Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to Supply Chain Management.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and increase of revenue for BDUK.
  • Support, de-risk and implement solutions following Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for spares that fail their Required Delivery Date (RDD), reporting completed analysis to P-8A Supply Chain Management and customer stakeholders.
  • Generate and support Supply solutions of assigned parts for those requirements not immediately available.
  • Efficiently prioritise all tasks and work to best support the business needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with support organisations to ensure a seamless support is provided
  • Conduct Supply Chain Support activities in line with Business Unit Processes and Procedures.
  • Oversee, review and amend Processes and Procedures when gaps/errors are identified.
  • Mentor, develop and support the team in Supply Chain Best Practices and help resolve minor issues at every opportunity.
  • Provide SME guidance and support to internal stakeholders for long-range Programme requirements
  • Host meetings pertinent to the success of assigned RAAs.
  • Support ad-hoc tasks allocated by management to support business requirements
  • Ensure CDRL's are accurately completed and on time
  • Develop and monitor key demand satisfaction and supply chain dashboards.
  • Monitor CA's in line with budget and Forecast

Programme/Enterprise

  • Adopt Boeing best practices to identify Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities and participate in Employee Involvement (EI) projects to identify Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI).
  • Develop individual WorkLife priorities to be aligned with Business priorities
  • Take actions to manage and complete directed WorkLife priorities by the manager
  • Correctly and diligently record all your accrued labour time in WorkLife on a daily basis against the correct and authorised activity ID.
  • Travel to external meetings with suppliers, customers etc. as approved.
