Ledwood are looking to recruit an experienced
Health & Safety Advisor to join our project team in the
Teesside Area.


The Role


To provide support and guidance in all project related Health, Safety, Environment and Training duties in accordance with legal, company and client requirements to ensure the project is delivered safely and achieves the company goal of ZERO incidents.

You will report into the onsite HSE Lead and be supported by the Corporate HSE Manager.


Your new position will be to:

  • Maintain a daily presence on site and within the working area and keep an accurate daily record of events.
  • Carry out and regular Health, Safety and Environmental audits and inspections of company and subcontractor work faces, identifying hazards and contraventions of company policy, procedures and practices and recommend appropriate remedial action in accordance with Project Construction Phase HSE&T Plan
  • Deliver company inductions to all Ledwood onsite personnel (new starts & transfers) as required.
  • Ensure investigation of incidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss reports with a purpose to identifying their true root causes and making recommendations for the prevention of reoccurrences is undertaken.
  • Engage with employees and sustain awareness for the need for safe working practices, highlighting of at risk conditions and responsible behaviour in the minds of employees by regular use of propaganda, tool box talks and freely distributed information.
  • Assist in and ensure the implementation and development of the company's' Health, Safety & Environmental Management systems to ensure that the company is legally compliant with its duties under health, safety and Environmental obligations.
  • Carry out and assist Supervision with implementation of Task Risk Assessment and Method Statements to assist in work planning and considering how risk could be reduced.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the site training, and other such records and where required transfer to the main training data base in liaison with HR.
  • Complete weekly, monthly Health, Safety, Environmental and Training reports as directed.
  • To carry out any other duties to ensure the completion of the role as may be required by the Project Manager or Corporate HSE&T Manager

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • NEBOSH National Diploma or NVQ Level 6 or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of large Petrochemical asset organisational, process plant and site SHE operations.
  • CDM Regulations awareness

Project Specifics
The position will be based onsite.


This role will report directly into the onsite HSE Lead and will be supported by the Corporate Health & Safety Manager and Project Manager.


Working Hours:
Nightshift Monday to Thursday (12.5 hours per night) optional Sunday nightshift working


Duration:
Starting ASAP for approx 6/ 7 months


Rate of Pay:
Depending on experience, this will be discussed with each applicant.
