Founded in 2003 by Dong Hyun Kim, his mission was simple, to make fresh and flavorsome sushi and bento available to everyone.

Almost 20 years later Wasabi have 43 successful branches across London, other UK major cities and New York.


The journey continued in 2019 with the launch of Wasabi Home Bento exclusively into Sainsbury's through the future brands scheme.

And we're just getting started. The leadership team have set out their 5 year strategy which encompasses company growth, franchise and international expansion.

Our menu is renowned for its distinctiveness, freshness and flavour.

The cold food range of sushi, pokes and salads are made fresh daily in our branch kitchens and our hot bento, noodle bowls and soups offer an indulgent and comforting alternative to our broad and democratic demographic.


As we prepare for out next phase of growth and innovation, we have an incredibly exciting opportunity for a Evening Production Operative.


Role Purpose:


To assist the smooth running of central kitchen so that it can efficiently provide quality & portion controlled items to meet the needs of all branches.


Key Responsibilities:

Cooking/prep of all food items as per recipe and process flow.


To assist with cooking/Process of raw materials at the right spec, bagging, day codding, and labelling them and stacking them as per production plan.

Ensure all food temperature is maintained while handling, processing and cooking.

Ensure stock rotation of all the products.

Ensure mínimal wastage while cooking or preparing for raw products

Ensure has a good knowledge before handing cooking or cutting equipment.

Responsible for maintaining all the fixed, movable and portable equipment's

Adhered to health & safety procedure policy

Ensure always have right PPE at all the time while at work

To clean kitchen appliances, work surface, floors and walls as required

Ensure all preparation areas are clean and hygienic following company cleaning procedures.


  • Manual handling
  • Safe use of equipment.
  • First Aid and Hygiene Practice
  • Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
NO smoking at any time while on duty except at agreed break times at designated area at CPU.

Cooking and preparation skills.

Good knowledge of how to operate machinery

Use and maintenance of equipment

Good understanding of food hygiene procedures.

Previous experience working with BRC compliance((Desirable)

'Can to' & 'hands on' attitude

Able to accept instruction/guidance for Team leader
